The Toronto Raptors is one of the famous basketball franchises that competes in the NBA’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. The Toronto based team practices and plays their home matches in the Scotiabank Arena that also houses the NHL team, Toronto Maple Leafs.

Founded in 1995, the Raptors is an old franchise that boasts an NBA Championship, a Conference title and millions of fans all around the world. Being the only Canadian NBA franchise, the Raptors’ fan-base also includes a number of celebrities. So, here is a list of your favorite celebrities that are Raptors fans and often make a courtside appearance.

Drake

Drake, the rapper, is probably the biggest fan of the Raptors among celebrities. He has been spotted at their games numerous times and can be seen actively cheering them on from the courtside. One of the reasons he is an avid supporter is that he himself hails from Toronto.

Having said that, the artist even became the global ambassador of the franchise back in 2013. His love for the franchise is not a one-way affair since the Raptors are just as fond of him. Reportedly, the organization's top brass named the team training facilities in the city after the singer's record label, OVO Sound.

Shawn Mendes

Just like Drake, Shawn Mendes is also Canadian by birth, and therefore, he supports the Raptors with all his heart. Drake and Shawn have often been spotted together sitting courtside and enjoying the games. Moreover, the fact that, on many occasions, Shawn even brought along her ex-girlfriend, Camila Cabello, to the games is proof enough that he loves the Raptors.

Unlike Drake, who himself belongs to Toronto, Shawn comes from the city of Pickering, Ontario. Pickering is not far from the metro area and is located just outside Toronto. Maybe that is why the artist has a special affiliation with the team.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Celebrities that love the Raptors are not just restricted to the entertainment industry. Another big fan of the franchise is Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Vladimir is a baseball player, a second-generation player at that, who remained on the Los Angeles Angels, Texas Rangers rosters, and Baltimore Orioles.

He enjoys a huge fan base of his own and has a Silver Slugger and an AL Hank Aaron Award to his name. The athlete is just as passionate about the Raptors as he is about baseball. Reportedly, he witnessed the team's match against the Philadelphia 76ers once and got a big cheer from the crowd when he was shown on the jumbotron.
